Delivering the modernised National Certificates and National Progression Awards to learners in a more innovative way is the motivation behind this project partnership formed by SQA, COLEG and SFEU.
The initial stage will see the development of e-assessments and web-based teaching and learning resources for the modernised awards. A successful ESF project bid has ensured funding for one year initially for this development. Curriculum areas to be included and details of materials are currently being finalised.
The development of e-assessments will be supported by SQA, and COLEG is responsible for the production of complementary web-based learning and teaching resources.
To ensure a consistent pedagogical approach, training programmes and workshops for staff involved in content creation and the delivery of awards will be provided, and these will be run by SFEU.
With this tranche of funding available until 31 March 2009, the priority areas for development will be those awards that are currently validated.
